Franklin Regional wrestler Spencer Lee has done some amazing things on the mat, including winning another world title last month.
But the No. 1-ranked high school wrestler in the country at 113 pounds and the 2015 Tribune-Review Wrestler of the Year won’t be wrestling anytime soon.
The junior had surgery last week on his right shoulder and will miss most of the upcoming season. He hopes to be back for at least the individual tournaments in February and March.
Lee, a two-time PIAA and WPIAL Class AAA champion with a 97-0 record, was training for the United World Wrestling Junior World Championships in early August at the Olympic Training Center when he felt soreness in his shoulder.
