#1 Penn State-So many studs and so many question marks. The coaching staff has been able to push most of the right buttons during their run that it’s hard to pick against them. Even if some of their #1’s lose during the regular season they still seem to know how to peak for March better than any of their competition.
#2 Ohio State- How can a team with so much talent be ranked second? It speaks to the talent level of PSU. I love coach Ryan’s attitude, they are all in, while letting Snyder continue to compete at some international events and juggling a ridiculously talented lineup.
#3 Michigan- Everyone is talking about the stacked line up in Ann Arbor. Some have said that the staff can’t convert come March. I don’t buy it. I think barring injury the maze and blue get a trophy at the March tourney.
#4 Okie State- Is juggling a ton of talent. They are sitting two of their best wrestlers this season. The thing that hurts them in a tight dual or at the Championships is the lack of bonus points that this team produces.
#5 Mizzou and Arizona State- What coach Smith has done at Missouri is truly something special. Coach Jones is trying to recreate and improve upon the ASU glory days of the 1990’s.
#7 Lehigh- The Mountain Hawks return a ton of talent and some young studs to the mix this season. While the results of the double weight bump of Kutler and single weight jump of Preisch remain to be seen the line up is deep. They have a stern test against Michigan this weekend. If they don’t win the EIWA’s this season…
#8 VT- Can coach Robie keep this train stable while replacing a ton of talent?
#9 Iowa- It’s hard to rank these guys without knowing what their lineup will look like.
#10 Minnesota- They have been recruiting something fierce. I think that they will end up back in the top 10.
#11 North Carolina State- Coach Pop usually gets the most out of his guys. He’s hit a couple of bumps while building can they sneak back into the top 10?
#14 South Dakota State
#18 Oregon State
