#19 Drexel over Penn 30-9 Video & Interviews in process

The Drexel Dragons wrestling team kept the Abner’s Cheesesteak Trophy for the third straight year – is this the beginning of a streak? I asked Coach Az that question in a post match interview. Penn came into the match a little banged up and missing their 125lb wrestler. The Daskalakis Athletic Center had more than 500 partisan fans cheering only like Philly can for their favorite team. The teams went back and forth with victories until senior Alex DiCiantis followed up an Austin Rose major decision with his own victory. A medical forfeit at 285 and a straight forfeit at 125 sealed the Quakers fate. Freshman phenom Austin DeSanto got aggressive closing out the match with a tech for the Dragons.

You can catch both teams next at the EIWA Championships hosted by Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y. on March 3-4.

Intros. Post match interviews: Zack Fuentes, Garett Hammond, Austin Rose, Alex DeCiantis, Stephen Loiseau, Matt Azevedo, Matt Cimato, Josh Dziewa and Roger Reina. Drexel team.
