Excitement Index-Which Wrestlers Are The Most Fun to Watch

With the departure of David Taylor, Ed Ruth, Tony Ramos and Joe Colon I wanted to put together a list of guys that you should make sure to watch this season. These wrestlers create action, even when others try to slow them down. Make a point to watch them this season even if they wrestle for teams that you root against. Not all of these guys are national champions – some might never be. Regardless, I appreciate their style and mindset. Good luck to all this season and thanks for growing the sport by being so entertaining.

141 Logan Stieber-OSU Sr. Dominates, even David Taylor likes watching him. He’s the only college wrestler Taylor mentions by name.

165 Alex Dieringer-OSU Sr. Dominates like Stieber. Even with the weight class change.

157 James Green-Neb Sr. Explosive and fun to watch. May have the highest upside at the next level.

184 Gabe Dean-Corn. So. Just getting more dominant. Peaking in college! His win over Ed Ruth at last season’s Southern Scuffle was the upset of the year. Ruth made the world team and Dean dominated.

157 Ian Miller-Kent State RJr.-Dominated OSU’s Bo Jordan at FILA cadet’s last summer.

157 Dylan Ness-Minn Sr. He’s never out of it, except against Dieringer in last year’s finals.

125 Nahshon Garrett-Cornell So.-If he can finish on Delgado he’ll be top 5 #4#

149 Mikey Racciato-Pitt So. As a true freshman he had 7 pins, 2 of those guys AA at nationals. I’m sure that I’ll get something more up to date at the Keystone classic.

165 Taylor Walsh-Indiana RSr.-25 pins last year.

285 Mike McMullan-Northwestern Sr.- I give both these big wrestlers extra props for wrestling like they are 184 lbs.

285 Nick Gwiazdowski-NC State RJr.-Look at his championship match against Tony Nelson. Don’t dismiss either of 285er they put on a great match at the NWCA.

Let me know who you think I’m missing and should keep my eyes on during the season. I’ve talked with several of these guys off the mat and as exciting as they are on the mat they are equally approachable and easy to talk with.
