Lehigh vs. Illinois

#16 Flo & Unranked Intermat Illinois vs. #18 Flo #12 Intermat Lehigh
Illinois hasn’t wrestled the schedule that Lehigh has. Lehigh has a win over a very good Pitt team that has them higher ranked on Intermat. Depending on the service that you look at Illinois has 6 ranked wrestlers that are likely to compete and Lehigh has 3 ranked wrestlers. The only weight with ranked wresters facing each other is at 184 where #16 Reyes will face #5 Brown. It should be fun to watch but I see Brown at a different level than Reyes. I see Brown getting bonus points in that matchup.
125 – No. 1 Jesse Delgado, (Sr., Gilroy, Calif.) (2-0) vs. Scott Parker (Fr., Sellersville, Pa.) (3-1). Delgado is heavily favored. This is Parker’s first match against a top 5 wrestler. 4-0
133 – Dominic Olivieri, (Jr., Orland Park, Ill.) (6-6) vs. No. 6 Mason Beckman (Jr., Transfer, Pa.) 3-1. Beckman is heavily favored in this match. 4-4
141 – No. 16 Steven Rodrigues, (Jr., Mount Kisco, NY) (3-0) vs. Randy Cruz (So., Bethlehem, Pa.) 3-1. This will be a test for Cruz. Rodrigues is good but not elite, can Cruz take the step up towards ranking? If yes Lehigh as a chance in this dual. 7-4
149 – Kyle Langenderfer, (Fr., Mokena, Ill.) (8-3) vs. Drew Longo (Fr., Ardsley, N.Y.) 1-3. This is the weakest match of the dual. Illinois is favored. Toss up 10-4
157 – No. 8 Isaiah Martinez, (Fr., Lemoore, Calif.) (10-0) vs. Dylan Milonas (Fr., Oak Ridge, N.J.) 3-0. Next year this will be a closer match. I see Martinez dominating this year. 13-4
165 – No. 7 Jackson Morse (Sr., Alto, Mich.) (10-0) vs. Santiago Martinez (Sr., Oviedo, FL) 2-2. Morse will be too much for Martinez. 16-4
174 – No. 8 Zac Brunson (So., Eugene, OR) (11-0) vs. Marshall Peppelman (Sr., Harrisburg, PA) 3-1. Brunson will be too much for Peppelman. 20-4
184 – No. 16 Nikko Reyes (So., Fresno, Calif.) (10-1) vs. No. 5 Nathaniel Brown (Jr., Lewisburg, Pa.) 3-1. I see Brown with bonus points in this match. 20-8
197 – Jeff Koepke, Jr. (Prospect Heights, Ill.) (9-2) vs. No. 16 Elliot Riddick (So., Whitehall, Pa.) 4-2. Riddick wins close. 20-11
285 – Chris Lopez (Jr., Chicago, Ill.) (8-3) OR Brooks Black (Fr., Dover, Pa.) (8-3) vs. Doug Vollaro (So., Springfield, Mass.) 3-1. Black has beaten Vollaro many times in high school. Has Vollaro gotten better in the Lehigh room? Vollaro wins. Illinois 20-14 final.
