Pitt Johnstown vs. Kutztown Results & Interviews

Kutztown University makes it two in a row.
Traditional D2 powerhouse Pitt Johnstown came into Kutztown last night to wrestle in front of more than 300 fans. There were lots of young wrestlers with families in attendance (Kutztown doesn’t charge admission). New D2 powerhouse Kutztown won against UPJ the first time in modern history last season and hoped to keep up the trend. UPJ started several freshmen and was eventually over powered 24-9. The biggest upsets of the night:
• 149 KU’s Joe Esposito over nationally ranked #8 Cole Landowski UPJ
• at 165 KU’s nationally ranked #7 Bo Candelaria lost 4-2 to RFr. Ty Reinhart UPJ .
• Returning national champ Ziad Haddad KU won a major decision to end the night 25-9.
