Four NCAA Champions headline Flo Premier League’s third professional wrestling outing on December 20th, 2014.
FPL 3 will be highlighted by 2x NCAA Champion and 3x US World Team member, Brent Metcalf, who will compete at 150lbs against fellow NCAA Champion and 2011 World Championship silver medalist, Franklin Gomez, who currently represents Puerto Rico at international competitions. The match will mark the first time the two wrestlers have ever faced off.
The match is especially important for Metcalf who has recently expressed his desire to wrestle less domestic competition and more international competition over the next year.
“I am excited about the opportunity to wrestle Franklin Gomez,” said Brent Metcalf. The Hawkeye wrestling star mentions that Gomez is a competitor who stands, “in the way of [his] goals to be a World and Olympic Champion.”
Gomez is equally enthusiatics about his scrap vs Metcalf and says he’s, “excited for the chance to test (where he stacks up) against the competition.”
Serving as the co-main event is a match up at 190lbs between NCAA Champions, Jake Herbert and Jon Reader. Herbert, an Olympian and World silver medalist, recently made his return to senior-level wrestling after over a year hiatus from the sport.
