Kutztown University two-time heavyweight champion Ziad Haddad has been named the NCAA Super Region I Wrestler of the Year for the second consecutive season, as voted on by the regions coaches. He is now one of four finalists for the NCAA Division II National Wrestler of the Year, which he claimed last season.
Haddad, a three-time All-American in the Maroon and Gold, put together his second-straight undefeated season this year as a senior that concluded with his second National Championship at heavyweight.
EDMOND, Okla. (March 30) – A foursome of national champions who had a combined 132-3 record in 2014-15 have been selected as finalists for the NCAA Division II Wrestler of the Year award as determined by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.
Kutztown heavyweight Ziad Haddad, North Carolina- Pembroke 141-pounder Daniel Ownbey, Central Missouri 149-pounder Frank Cagnina and Central Oklahoma 165- pounder Chris Watson were selected to represent their respective regions on the national ballot.
The eighth winner of the NCAA Division II Wrestler of the Year award will be announced Monday, April 6.
