2016 50th Annual Open East Stroudsburg University Open Results & Match Video

The 2nd longest running open tournament in the country was contested yesterday. The field was a bit down this season due to being on the same day as the Clarion and Southeast Opens. Rutgers, Lehigh and F & M led the way in scoring and shear numbers. Rutgers sent 27 attached and unattached wrestlers, Lehigh sent17. Rutgers captured 6 titles; Lehigh captured 3 titles at 141, 165 and 285. Paul “PJ” Klee secured the lone totally unattached title. If you’re looking up brackets on Flo Arena they weren’t all correct as of the time of this article. Another surprise was Austin Petril (Kutztown) at 125 lbs and Ryan Kemmerer (Temple Club) at 149 both taking 2nd place.
One of my favorite things about the ESU Open is that fans can be mat side or mingle with their favorite teams very easily. If you’ve never been make plans for next fall.
