Lehigh Brown & White Wrestle Off 2018 Video Highlights

Over 1,100 fans filed into Grace Hall last night to watch Lehigh conduct its annual wrestle offs. Most of the wrestlers know each other so well that the action can be limited due to familiarity. Several likely starters were missing from the action and seemed to temper the already discreet crowd. Time will tell if and when the missing wrestlers are returning. You can catch Lehigh in action at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic November 11. I’ll have coverage of the Princeton match Nov. 30. Click each match to see highlights. Introductions. Post-match interviews with: Nick Farro, Brandon Paetzell, Jordan Kutler and Jordan Wood Wrestle-off Results

125lbs: Nick Farro dec. Jaret Lane 9-5. Farro looks like a big 125 lbs. With Farro going down to 125 I’m guessing that Schramm is out.

133lbs: Brandon Paetzell dec. Mitchell Polito 9-5. Paetzell had some nice attacks from neutral. He’s lifted his way out of the 125lb weight class. Will Parker be back this season?

141lbs: Ryan Pomrinca dec. Dan Moran 3-2. Local wrestler Moran kept attacking Pomrinca until the end of the match. 3rd weight class where the expected start wasn’t in the lineup.

141lbs: Joe Lobeck major dec. Brock Herring 12-0   Lehigh Brown & White Wrestle Off . Lobeck was too much for Herring in all 3 positions. The opening sequence set the tone for the match.

157lbs: Josh Humphreys dec. Brian Meyer 7-3. Good wrestling effort. Yet another weight class missing the expected starter.

165lbs: Cole Walter dec. Gordon Wolf 4-2. Lowest scoring match of Wolf’s career. Walter really slowed Wolf and the crowd down.

165lbs: Trey Cornish dec. Tyler Casamenti 13-6. Cornish a kid that I’ve never seen wrestle before flashed a bunch of dynamic moves for the crowd. I really enjoyed watching Cornish pop a couple of slick but powerful double and mat returns.

174lbs: Jordan Kutler major dec. Chase Gallik 13-4. Galik drew the short straw and while trying to have some fun out there Kutler’s intensity provided the crowd with their first bonus point match of the night.

184lbs: Ryan Preisch major dec. Andrew Price 11-2. This was a tight match early but the Opinionated Knucklehead scored when there were openings and delivered the second bonus point match. Preisch looks like an 84lber this season.

184lbs: Eli Grape fall Andrew Shedleski 0:11. The fall happened so quickly that many in the crowd seemed to have missed it.

197lbs: Kyle Gentile dec. Jake Jakobsen 3-1. Yet another weight that the expected start was missing. It was a tight match but Gentile was able to keep better positions.

285lbs: Jordan Wood dec. Victor Lacombe 8-1. Lacombe was able to stuff a few of Woods shots in the first period but then appeared to get tired and Wood kept up his pace nearly securing a bonus win.
Attendance – 1,148. Seemed a bit smaller to me.
