Boys Wrestling Comes Under Attack from American Psychological Association

As if wrestling needs one more adversary, the American Psychological Association (APA) has released guidelines that teach psychologists working with men and boys that “traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful.” This is a clear and direct attack on nearly every male wrestler (and every male, btw).

APA has issued its first-ever guidelines for therapy practices dealing with men and boys. Telling us that traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage the APA has issued its first-ever guidelines for practice with men and boys.

APA says the guidelines teach that traditional masculinity, “marked by competitiveness, dominance and aggression—is, on the whole, harmful.”

The APA has joined in the war against men, proposing to solve their problems by emasculating them.

In the past masculinity and femininity were opposite ends of a spectrum, and ‘healthy’ psychology entailed identifying strongly with your sex. Now it is politically and educationally fashionable to be beta and fluid, even when almost every observable beta and fluid male behaves in a very unhappy and self-destructive fashion.

The science has long since been settled: men and women are not the same. Our genetics are so different that we have more in common with some primates of the same sex than with each other. Trying to make men and women the same will devastate both. Women need the strength and protective instincts of their men, and men need the love and faithful support of their women. Destroy the significance of each sex and you destroy the importance of marriage and family, for the opposite sex is what makes familial union of marriage possible.

The APA and most psychologists like every other area of our society have become a political tool. Now most psychologists are violating a generally accepted oath among both MDs and non-MDs alike: first, do no harm. This is what the APA thinks is normal. The political abuse of power by psychiatrists has a long and abundant history, from the Nazi and Soviet era to modern times, dissenters are labeled as “mentally ill”, dehumanized and subjected to inhumane treatments.

Under the cover of politicized science and media, sports like wrestling, football, hockey and lacrosse are coming under attack. Male behavior is not merely learned behavior, it is in a man’s nature (DNA) and it serves a purpose. Without it, we would not have survived as a species. The APA like so many other organizations is trying to divide us. Humans wouldn’t be here as a species if men and women hadn’t come together as a unified team thousands of years ago. These superior minded academics believe that we have somehow risen above our history and the need for aggression, competitiveness, risk-taking and other harmful qualities of masculinity. One can only assume that they are trying to make mental illness popular and fashionable.

The radic aspect of these Guidelines  starts right up front, in their definition of gender—“Gender refers to psychological, social, and cultural experiences and characteristics associated with the social statuses of girls and women or boys and men, whereas sex refers to biological aspects of being male or female.” Gender is defined as social and psychological, sex is defined as physical, and the two are construed to be separate and unrelated. Therefore the Guidelines don’t mention the brain’s chemistry and structure as a determinant of behavior, including gender specific behavior. The role of the endocrine system is also ignored. The brain’s physical character affects “sex”—but nothing to do with “gender.”

Being a man isn’t easy, we are over represented as a society in war-time death and injury, crime, suicide, homelessness, work place fatalities, murder and prison population just to rattle off a few of our ‘privileges’. That said, beta males are always way more disturbed than alpha males. That which is repressed (evolutionary maleness) peeks itself out later in life in some twisted form.

So, don’t fall into this latest attempt of identity politics to divide us, alpha males aren’t the family hating, child abandoning misogynist the APA wants us to believe. Our formerly alpha society led the way in household appliances and feminine care products to make women’s lives easier long before the dramatic workplace safety improvements that saved men’s lives.

This attack on normal male behavior is just one more reason to have your son wrestle. Not only will it teach him valuable life lessons it will counter balance all the politicized science coming out on a daily basis.

Stay woke.
